Description – This course will review the 5304 Section of the Real Estate Manual on Railroad Acquisition. The instructors will review the procedures for this section, along with training on how to prepare a Title Report for a railroad property. This course will involve location and review of specific documents unique to railroad title searches and how to locate them, including Railroad Valuation Maps (Val Maps). In addition, this course will cover how to review a railroad title report that was submitted for review by looking at all the nuances involved in reviewing the title report.

Prerequisite – Acquisition 101 A.

Who Should Attend? – This course offering through ODOT / LTAP is intended primarily for local agency employees (county, city, village and township), and real estate consultants doing work for ODOT or local agencies in Ohio.

Instructors – The primary instructors will be Staci Freeman (ODOT District 1 Office), Erika O'Brien Mason (ODOT Central Office) and John Wooldridge (ODOT District 5 Office).

Registration Information – Registrations are processed in the order they are submitted online, while seats are still available.  The registration fee is $50 per person.  Lunch is “on your own” (a cafeteria is available on-site at ODOT Central Office).  Any registrant requiring a reasonable accommodation during training (i.e., mobility or access) should contact Ohio LTAP prior to the course date so the appropriate arrangements can be made.  If you are sick or not feeling well, please DO NOT attend the course.  If you need to cancel your registration, please contact the LTAP office.

FHWAOHDIV - Code to be used by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Division Staff only when registering for LTAP courses.  Provides the FHWA LTAP discount on the course price.

ODOTEMPL - Code that must be used by ALL ODOT employees when registering for a course. Do not enter payment information or request an invoice.  If you are an ODOT employee, you MUST use this code unless the class is a NHI self-pay course.  See below.

PAYBYCHECK - ODOT EMPLOYEE ATTENDING A NHI-SELF-PAY COURSE - Use code PAYBYCHECK if you are an ODOT employee.  Then enter your Divison, Cost Center and SAC number in the designated field on the registration form.
