Description – This comprehensive online training provides preventive techniques for identifying, analyzing, and calculating various hydraulic factors that impact bridge stability. Public and private sector engineers responsible for maintaining the integrity of highway bridges will find it invaluable.

Prior to the beginning of the online course, participants are strongly encouraged to enroll in the following Web-based training (WBT) courses: 135091 Basic Hydraulic Principles Review, 135086 Stream Stability Factors and Concepts, and 135087 Scour at Highway Bridges: Concepts and Definitions. Mastery of the concepts covered in these WBTs will enhance participation in the Virtual Instructor-led training.

Who Should Attend? – Federal, State, and local highway hydraulic, structural, and geotechnical engineers as well as bridge inspectors responsible for maintaining the integrity of highway bridges against possible hydraulic-related problems. Consultants who perform bridge engineering work are encouraged to attend.

Registration Information – Registrations are processed in the order they are submitted online, while seats are still available.  The registration fee is $1150 per person, per NHI. 

ODOT Employees – This IS a self-pay NHI course (which means there is no grant funding to offset the NHI course fee).  Please use Promo Code PAYBYCHECK, and then complete Q010 of the online registration form with Division, Cost Center and SAC information.  All other registrants have the option of paying either by credit card (online with registration), or by check (LTAP will send an invoice).

Participants must complete ALL SESSIONS of this 4-day Virtual training in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.

Promo Code Information

The promo codes below apply to specific groups of class participants.  Please ONLY use a code if it applies to you.  If you are not certain if it applies, please contact the Ohio LTAP Center at ltap@dot.ohio.gov or 614-387-7359 or 1-877-800-0031.  Do not randomly select a promo code and use it.  Your registration will be reviewed by the center registrar and cancelled if you have used a code which did not apply to you.

FHWAOHDIV - Code to be used by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Division Staff only when registering for LTAP courses.  Provides the FHWA LTAP discount on the course price.

ODOTEMPL - Code that must be used by ALL ODOT employees when registering for a course. Do not enter payment information or request an invoice.  If you are an ODOT employee, you MUST use this code unless the class is a NHI self-pay course.  See below.

PAYBYCHECK - ODOT EMPLOYEE ATTENDING A NHI-SELF-PAY COURSE - Use code PAYBYCHECK if you are an ODOT employee.  Then enter your Divison, Cost Center and SAC number in the designated field on the registration form.

PAYBYCHECK - This code should be entered when you want the Ohio LTAP Center to bill you for the course fee instead of paying immediately online via credit card.  Once your registration is completed with this code, an invoice for the amount due will be sent to you, due upon receipt.
